One2One With Jamie Lynn Noon

One2One was able to catch up with Jamie Lynn Noon and ask her a few questions.

The 23 year old Californian, is one of the latest singer / songwriters on the scene.

Composing all of her own music, this young woman started writing songs when she was around 16 years old.. Her new album, "A Moment To Break" was released on January 27, 2009 and featured 6 of her best songs from her already large repertoire including “I’m Trying” one of the very first songs Jamie ever wrote – right out of high school.

Co-produced by Jamie and film/television music veteran and producer Kevin Harris and mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Brian Gardner (No Doubt / Christina Aguilera / Avril Lavigne) , " A Moment To Break" the title song on her album has an energy like none other, it is a most electrifying song in its own. Very peaceful and very passionate, her voice can lift up your spirits in any mood possible.

Recently, her single, “’Til Ya Make It,” produced by Grammy and Oscar-nominated producer/songwriter, Jud Friedman (Whitney Houston/James Ingram/Kenny Loggins), was featured in the hit television series, Saints and Sinners.

Listening to her music, you can catch a glimpse of this engaging singer and Jamie’s warmth and honesty comes across in her lyrics and in the tone and tempo of her songs.

O2O: What are you currently working on? Is there another album in the works? If so, when is the release date? (Approximately)
JLN: I am working on a follow up release... And anticipate a summer release! :)

O2O: What is your current inspiration?
JLN: I find and draw inspiration from so many things – life, love, and the road that I am currently taking in my career.

O2O: What do you do for fun? What's fun for you nowadays?
JLN: Music! I am lucky in that I absolutely love, wholeheartedly, what I do.

O2O: What does success mean to you?
JLN: Success, to me, is a sense of fulfillment within oneself.

O2O: Do you have time to read? If so, what type of books do you read?
JLN: I love fiction. I love getting lost in the stories and lives of the characters and the imagination!

O2O: Your songs are very emotional , do you think of yourself as an emotional person?
JLN: Very much so!

O2O: What barriers do you face being a woman artist in LA?
JLN: I think the only barriers are the ones we create ourselves.

O2O: Do you find your songs sound the same both before and after they are recorded? Or do they evolve as they are being recorded?
JLN: The core of the song is the same, but they definitely evolve and come to life as they are recorded...
And it’s always rewarding hearing your vision become something tangible.

O2O: Many artists taste success and they let it go to their head. How do you keep yourself grounded?
JLN: I have a strong sense of self and of family , and it would take a lot to take that out from under me! :)

"A Moment To Break" is now available on itunes and amazon.com
